Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and grow the IT team, including mentoring and developing other engineers and specialists.
- Shape IT department strategy, roadmap, and priorities in collaboration with upper management.
- Act as the primary point of contact between IT and company leadership, translating business needs into technical plans and communicating IT risks/priorities upward.
- Own department-level decisions on tooling, policy, and process, balancing short-term support needs with long-term infrastructure health.
- Provide backup and redundancy on critical systems and decisions, ensuring no single point of failure in the department.
- Plan resourcing, hiring, and skill development within the IT team as it grows.
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for the most complex infrastructure, security, and support issues.
- Expertise in administration, synchronization, and integration of identities in hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain security pipelines, disaster recovery plans, backup strategy, and vulnerability analysis.
- Configure and secure hybrid and internet-facing services using modern authentication and security best practices.
- Lead security and compliance audits of internal and third-party IT infrastructure.
- Monitor, administer, and optimize company network infrastructure (switches, VPNs, LAN/WiFi).
- Oversee hardware onboarding, workstation configuration, and asset management standards across the company.
- Support technical events (streaming, recording, cameras, microphones, sound) as needed, and ensure the team can cover this independently.
Requirements:
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience leading an IT team or department, backed by additional 4 years of hands-on experience at a senior or expert level across IT infrastructure, security, and support. You should have the technical depth to be a credible mentor to the rest of the team.
• Stakeholder management: demonstrated ability to work directly with upper management/executives - presenting plans, negotiating priorities, and communicating technical risk in business terms.
• Generalist mindset with specialist depth: comfortable across a wide range of IT support, infrastructure, and operations tasks, with genuine expertise in at least one core area (identity/security/networking).
• Strong communication: able to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-organization & ownership: highly responsible and reliable; manages competing priorities across strategic and hands-on work independently.
• Technical expertise:
- Hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, synchronization, and integration.
- Configuring and securing hybrid/internet-facing services with modern authentication and security best practices.
- Security and compliance auditing of internal and third-party IT infrastructure.
- IT security best practices, standards, and policy design and implementation.
- Administration and monitoring of wired and wireless network infrastructure.
- Solid IT support, hardware setup, and troubleshooting experience (Windows and ideally Linux).
- Scripting for task and process automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with user management, ticketing system and IT assets tracking tools (ideally Jira Service Management).
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with game development environments, workflows, and tools.
